I Saw Sparks

welding-helmetWelding jobs can be some seriously dangerous places to work. No joke. I’ve seen many people get hurt on the job simply because they didn’t follow basic safety precautions. I myself have been injured by a welding spark while standing in a place where I shouldn’t have been standing a welding job site I was trying to walk through to get where I was going, and let me tell you, it hurts.

Now, when it comes down to talking about safety, I couldn’t imagine working on any kind of welding jobs without a welding helmet, which is something I feel that should go without saying. Particularly, I recommend using a welding helmet with a built-in auto-darkening feature. This will help your eyes to handle the intense bright light produced by the welding sparks, so that you can perform your task on the job without being blinded.

The Road To Weldville

welding-cutting-kit-victor-compatibleI spend some time on the tool forums out there, and from time to time, I may hear things like – “where can I find good welders to get started?”. Well, my answer to that question would be, that all depends on the types of welding jobs you have lined up.

Of course, someone with aspirations to be more seriously involved in the art of welding, then you may want to start out with something more a little more high-end like miller welders, for example, to handle the amount of punishment you give it. Someone looking to keep a welder around the house or shop may want something a little less costly though, especially in today’s economy. Here are some welding supplies that may interest you if you are looking to get aquatinted with the world of welding, or just to keep a welding and cutting kit around for a touch up here and a bond there while keeping your budget in tact.
