dewalt 1There’s quite a lot of shopping going on this time of year, and the malls and shopping outlets are packed with shoppers anxious to get that perfect holiday gift for their friends and loved ones this year. For the handyman in your life, you may want to consider getting some power tools.

Sometimes those power tools out at the large tools stores can be a bit pricey, especially for name brand power tools. A way to save a bit of money, and still get a like-new tool is to consider purchasing reconditioned tools for a gift. Reconditioned tools are repaired by factory personnel and are backed by the full manufacturer’s warrantee for parts and workmanship. With a value like that, it doesn’t make any sense not to buy reconditioned tools.

decking1Black friday has come and gone again, which means the holiday season is right around the corner. Many of us though, are looking for a better value in our gifts this year, the economy being how it is and everything. If you’re one of these people, then you may want to consider purchasing reconditioned tools this holiday season.

There are many great reasons to buy reconditioned tools this year. One being that all reconditioned tools are repaired by factory personnel and full tested to meet all requirements of the manufacturer. Not only that, all reconditioned tools come with the original full factory warrantee covering defective parts and labor. Near-new power tools at reconditioned prices? Sounds like a value to me!

blackfriday2It looks like black friday is upon us again, and instead of camping out at the store at three in the morning like some shopping enthusiasts out there, I will doing my holiday shopping online this year. Mostly I will be getting power tools as many of my gifts, because I know so many people in the construction trades.

I find that shopping for my power tools at an online tool store is the way to go for me these days. With all the traffic and crowded stores, not to mention the endless lines, shopping at the mall just isn’t that fun for me anymore. Besides, there are some great values in buying online, such as reconditioned tools, which are great for some one buying a lot of power tools.

Reconditioned Tools vs. Used Tools

use_nailerThere may be a bit of confusion out there as to the difference between reconditioned power tools and used power tools. I would like to clear up right now however, that there is a considerable difference between the two.

When someone refers to used power tools, they are talking about tools bought from a garage sale, or handed down from a loved one. This is in no way the same thing as reconditioned tools. When you buy reconditioned power tools, you are purchasing a tool that has been repaired by trained factory personnel. It has been mechanically and electrically tested to meet all requirements of the manufacturer. On top of that, all reconditioned tools come with the full factory warrantee covering all workmanship and materials. I hope this cleared up any confusion concerning the topic, and hope you will consider reconditioned tools in the future as a generally great buy.

Reconditioned Power Tools vs. New Power Tools

reconditioned toolsThere are a lot of things going on with the economy right now, which means more people will be looking to save some money, and seeking information to do more things themselves. That being said, I would like to take a moment and make a brief comparison between buying new power tools and reconditioned power tools.

Buying new power tools such as DeWalt power tools and Milwaukee power tools when they are new is always a good move, because you know you have a brand new name brand tool that will likely not break on you. However, power tools do break from time to time and when they are sent back to the factory and repaired, they are put back on the market and sold as reconditioned tools. This is a great way to save money on power tools if you work on projects at home, or have any type of construction business, because buying a lot of power tools can really add up after a while.

Not only does buying reconditioned tools save money, you’re buying like-new power tools that come fully backed by the manufacture’s warrantee for defective materials and workmanship. If that’s not a reason to buy reconditioned tools, I don’t know what is.

Why Reconditioned Tools For The Holiday Season?

Reciprocating Saw 2The holiday season is here again and finding the perfect gift for that handy-man in our lives is upon us. Some people have more stuff to fix around the house than others though, which means more power tools will be needed to get the work done that much faster. Buying a lot of power tools can get quite costly though, which means methods of saving money must be discovered.

A great way to save on power tools, is purchasing reconditioned tools. When someone buys reconditioned tools, they know they are getting name brand power tools that have been repaired by trained factory personnel. All reconditioned tools come backed by the original factory warrantee, which covers all power tools for defective workmanship and materials. The savings when buying reconditioned tools can be huge, especially when bought in bulk. This is not just beneficial for do-it-yourselfers, but large construction companies that buy large amounts of power tools could benefit greatly from this. Like-new tools at used tool prices? Sounds like a deal to me.

Buying Refurbished Tools: The Smart Chioce

thumbnail.aspxMany carpenters, contractors or craftsmen alike are in constant need of power tools from cordless drills to reciprocating saws. At the end of the day, the cost of all the tools you need to run your operation can wind up costing a pretty penny. This is why considering purchasing refurbished tools is a prudent move, especially in today’s economy.

Refurbished tools are name brand power tools that have been repaired by factory trained personnel. Refurbished tools, also called reconditioned tools also come backed by the original factory warrantee. There may be some blemishes from previous use, but there in lies the savings! I punish my power tools anyway, so it doesn’t matter to me if I get a scratch or two on a like-new tool. To me, it’s the smart choice.

A Rebounding Market’s Got Me Thinking Refurbished Tools

constructionAlong with the construction industry, power tools are on the rise. As the market rises though, not everyone’s budget expands at the same rate. We all still need to buy power tools to build things though, right? So, what do we do? Do we buy a brand of power tools that we don’t know and trust, simply because the price is really cheap? Not in my experiences. I find that every time I buy knock-off tools, I wind up paying more in the end because many times cheap power tools like that break the second you get in the door.

A very feasible work-around for this is to consider purchasing refurbished tools. Buying refurbished, often referred to as reconditioned tools, is an excellent way to keep name brand power tools in your hands at a price that fits your budget. With refurbished tools, you even get the full factory warrantee good for defective workmanship and materials. If there’s a better to way to get quality power tools for less, I haven’t seen it. Go with your gut. Buy refurbished tools and save!

In A Reconditioned Tools State Of Mind

new-yorkBeing a New York City Local 8 roofer is a pretty tough job. Not only are the working conditions hard on us, but it’s hard on the power tools too. From things like one hundred-degree or higher heat and flash rains in the summer to brutal frigid cold winds in the winter, the amount of power tools we go through just because of the weather is actually kind of ridiculous. Not to mention, the complete beating all of the workers give them on top of accidentally leaving them out for someone to steal, adds significantly to the power tools turn-over.

This is where I got the idea for reconditioned tools though. I observed the amount of power tools we were going through, and decided that if we were going to keep this up, I couldn’t keep buying new tools, they would cost the company a fortune. I couldn’t buy knock-off power tools either because then I would be buying three times the amount as before. The only, obvious solution was to purchase reconditioned tools. Not only am I getting name brand tools, but all reconditioned tools come with the full factory warrantee, which covers all parts and workmanship. All this coupled with the fact that an unlikely defect has already been repaired by a trained factory technician. This tells me the chance that the same component is going to break again is a lot less likely, and that’s definitely something I can live with.

Reconditioned Tools Are A Valuable Asset To Any Workshop

workshop1If you’re like many, and looking to construct a well balanced workshop, then you are probably looking to acquire a substantial amount of power tools. Now, if you just wanted a few power tools to keep in the garage, then that’s a different story. We’re talking about a workshop though, and this usually requires power tools of all shapes and sizes. This can get quite expensive though, especially for the hobbyist.

A money-saving option to consider, especially when looking to pick up a large quantity of power tools, is reconditioned tools. I’m sure that anyone that investigates the matter will find that they are getting name brand power tools at a much more reasonable price. They don’t have to worry about the tools breaking down either because all reconditioned tools are repaired by trained factory personnel. Not only that each tool is tested and inspected before it’s sent back out into the market. The icing in the cake is that it’s still cover under the full manufacturer’s warrantee. If you want a like-new name brand tool, at a price that much easier on the wallet, then buying reconditioned tools is the way to go!
